Our Micro-Loan Solutions
Approved amount and term depend on affordability, verification and the applicable credit category.
Submitting documents does not guarantee approval. Each application is assessed individually.
Our loans are designed for genuine short-term needs where the applicant can afford the repayment. Examples may include urgent household costs, transport, school-related expenses, medical or family needs, or other temporary cash-flow gaps.
The applicant must have legal capacity to enter into the credit agreement.
Income must be verified in line with the affordability rules applicable to the applicant.
Existing obligations and living costs are considered before approval.
Information and supporting documents must be authentic and accurate.
How the Application Works
Tell us the amount needed and provide your personal and contact details.
Provide the required identity, residence and income documents.
We review income, expenses, existing debt and repayment history.
If eligible, you receive a pre-agreement statement and quotation showing the cost of credit.
After acceptance of the credit agreement, approved funds are paid through the agreed method.
Before granting credit, we take reasonable steps to assess whether the proposed repayment is affordable. This protects the consumer and supports responsible lending.
Verify gross income using the prescribed proof appropriate to the applicant.
Consider living expenses and necessary monthly commitments.
Consider existing credit obligations and repayment history using credit information where required.
Assess whether sufficient income remains to service the proposed instalment.
Affordability rules require credit providers to consider the consumer’s debt repayment history and existing obligations. Personal and financial information is collected only for legitimate lending, compliance and record-keeping purposes and should be handled securely.
Applicants should provide truthful, authentic documents and disclose all relevant financial obligations.
Pricing & Cost of Credit
The NCR definition of a short-term credit transaction covers amounts up to R8 000 repayable within 6 months. Sigonde Black Mamba offers up to R10 000, so loans above R8 000 must be priced under the applicable NCA credit category rather than using a blanket short-term rate.
Short-term credit
Up to R8 000
NCR maximum interest
Above R8 000 to R10 000
Applicable NCA category
For an unsecured credit transaction, the maximum prescribed interest formula is Repo Rate + 21% per year. The exact rate offered must be within the applicable regulatory ceiling and disclosed before agreement.
Classification and pricing are determined for the specific agreement.
The final quotation is the customer’s key pricing document. Regulatory limits can change; the rate and fees applicable on the agreement date govern the transaction.
Consumer Rights & Fairness
A pre-agreement statement and quotation is provided before entering into the credit agreement, in the prescribed form where applicable.
Interest, permitted fees and total repayment obligations are explained and disclosed before acceptance.
We do not retain or use a consumer’s bank card, ATM card, PIN or original identity document as a method of collecting or enforcing a debt.
Where legal debt enforcement is necessary, the required notices and processes under the National Credit Act must be followed.
Consumers must be notified before adverse information is submitted to a credit bureau where the law requires such notice.
Customers may raise questions about an application, quotation, account or affordability outcome and use the applicable dispute-resolution channels.
Our Treatment Standard
Fair, respectful and non-misleading communication — from the first enquiry through repayment and, where necessary, collections.
Compliance & Governance
For non-audited credit providers, the NCR guideline requires an appropriate practitioner to perform the Regulation 68 assurance engagement and report on compliance findings. Management must support the process with relevant records, representation and corrective-action tracking where required.
Credit providers are accountable institutions under Item 11 of Schedule 1 to the Financial Intelligence Centre Act. This creates additional obligations such as FIC registration, risk-based customer due diligence, record keeping, an RMCP and prescribed regulatory reporting.
